Photoshop training
I have delivered beginner/intermediate Adobe Photoshop training to some of the staff in the editorial department at VBD this year, which involved colour corrections and cut-outs.
This significantly increased the quality of the publications, and due to this success, I have already started rolling out similar training to all editors. The remainder of the editorial department will follow early next year.
Teaching/Training Experience
I am a qualified technical trainer and hold a CTT+ certification. I used my qualification to get my Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) status, which enabled me to teach Adobe Acrobat and Adobe InDesign to external students. I have delivered Adobe Acrobat one-day courses for more than two years for a company called Certitec, which I thoroughly enjoy. You can see my profile on the Certitec website (here).
For the past three years, I've been delivering regular training sessions to VBD in Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop and InCopy, and have helped create highly-skilled and efficient production and editorial teams. I've developed a big passion for teaching, as I get a great buzz being in front of people and sharing my knowledge with them.
Repro/Pre-press training
Next year, I will be delivering pre-press training to the entire editorial department at VBD to encourage and develop a multi-talented, multi-tasking team capable of laying out pages, retouching pictures, creating print-ready compliant PDFs and correctly preflight checking them, so they can fix any potential printing problems that could occur.
Design Experience
I work for an in-house design studio where I have been a graphic designer for the past 10 years. I am the senior designer for the publication VN Times. I have a wide variety of work in my portfolio, ranging from logos, adverts, flyers, mailers, exhibition stands, to Interactive adverts, eMags and interactive media packs.
